Youth Rock Climbing Coach

I've been a youth rock climbing coach for the past 2 years, and really enjoy it. I got started when my son, then 6 years old, tried youth climbing at our local climbing gym, RoKC. This got me interested in climbing myself, and I've been climbing ever since. Shortly after, I wondered how I could get more involved in our community, and give back. I've been a youth taekwondo instructor in a past life and felt like I could bring something to the youth climbing classes that were unique to my skillset. The best part? Both of my boys are in my class so I get to spend more time with them as I watch them learn new skills and have fun.

Youth Mountain Bike Coach

The MTB coaching came naturally after the climbing coaching. Same motivation: I wanted to be more involved in the community, and I had something to offer.

What I enjoy about coaching kids on bikes is the same thing I enjoy about coaching them on a wall. It's a chance for them to do something that feels a little scary in a safe environment, with someone there to help them build confidence along the way. Watching a kid go from nervous to capable is genuinely one of the better things I get to be part of.

Both programs run through our local community. If your kid is interested in either, come find me.
